Calculator
Gold Karat Price Calculator
Calculate the value of 24K, 22K, 18K, 14K, or any karat from 1K to 24K using today's Nepal gold rate or a rate you enter yourself.
How the karat formula works
Karat measures how many parts of a 24-part alloy are gold. A 22K ornament is 22 parts gold and 2 parts alloy, so its metal value is calculated as the 24K rate multiplied by 22/24 before weight is applied.
Gold purity
What does karat measure?
Karat is the purity scale used for gold. The scale runs from 1K to 24K, where 24K is fine gold and lower karats contain more alloy metals such as copper, silver, zinc, or nickel. Alloy is not automatically bad. It makes jewellery harder, changes the color, and helps ornaments survive daily wear.
Use this calculator when a shop quotes the 24K benchmark but your jewellery is 22K, 18K, 14K, or another purity. It converts the rate by purity, converts the selected weight unit into tola, and gives a quick metal-value estimate before making charge, jarti, stones, taxes, or shop margin are added.
| Purity | Gold content | Common use |
|---|---|---|
| 24K | 99.9% fine gold | Bars, coins, investment, ceremonial gold |
| 22K | 91.67% gold | Nepal and South Asian jewellery |
| 18K | 75% gold | Fine jewellery, rings, gemstone settings |
| 14K | 58.33% gold | Durable everyday jewellery and diaspora markets |
